The Nasva River ( Estonian Nasva jõgi ) is a river on the Estonian island of Saaremaa .
The river has its source at Lake Mullutu-Suurlaht , the fourth largest lake in Estonia with 1,440 hectares of water. After about 3 km the river flows into the Baltic Sea at the Suur Katel bay . There is the settlement Nasva , a traditional fishing village with a fish processing industry, numerous boat builders and a marina.
When the water level is low, and especially when there is westerly wind, a strong salt water current flows from the mouth into the river. The Nasva River is very rich in water and fish. Its catchment area covers 306 km².
