Natalie Ball

Natalie Ball (born February 13, 1979 ) is a former German disabled athlete .

Career

Natalie Ball comes from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. She is blind from birth. After graduating from high school, she studied at the University of Greifswald .

Since she wanted to do competitive sports despite her disability, she became a member of HSG Greifswald . As a sport, she chose two different sports: swimming and goalball . Since she was soon one of the top performers of the club in both sports, she was appointed to the respective national teams of her sports and used in international competitions.

She became a member of the German national swimming team at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens , where she was used in three swimming disciplines and was also successful. She won three silver medals and one bronze medal in these games in the S 11 performance class, namely one silver medal each in 50 m breaststroke, 100 m freestyle and 100 m breaststroke; in addition there was a bronze medal in the 200 m individual medal. She was also successful in her second sport, goalball: at the 2005 European Championships, she took first place and won the gold medal. She also won a gold medal in goalball at the 2007 goalball world championships.

She received the Silver Laurel Leaf for winning a medal at the 2004 Paralympic Summer Games .

After graduating in Northern European geography in 2004, she went to Finland to study singing.
