Natalie Haenisch , also Natalie Hänisch ( June 3, 1842 in Marienwerder - 1919 ) was a German opera singer ( soprano ) and singing teacher .

Life

Haenisch, the daughter of a court councilor, was encouraged to sing by Joseph Tichatschek in Dresden, where she was in boarding school, and determined to work on the stage. The singing masters Ferdinand Böhm in Dresden, Gustav Wilhelm Teschner in Berlin and François Delsarte in Paris took on their training.

She made her debut in Rostock in 1859 as "Countess" in Figaro's wedding . From 1860 to 1861 she was in Braunschweig (inaugural role "Nachtwandlerin"), in 1862 in Schwerin (inaugural role "Agathe") and then joined the association of the court theater in Dresden (inaugural role "Dinorah"). She stayed there until 1870 and then worked as a guest in Vienna, Berlin, Paris, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Leipzig etc., partly as a stage, but also as a concert singer.

Her repertoire also included “Lucia”, “Elsa”, “Regiment's Daughter”, “Susanne”, “Margarethe” etc. She distinguished herself as a tasteful, excellently trained singer, whose voice was well supported by an effective game. The artist, who was also appointed chamber singer, worked as a singing teacher in Dresden after her active career had ended. Her students included u. a. Elisabeth Schumann .
