Nathan Berry

Nathan Berry (born January 21, 1991 in New South Wales , † April 3, 2014 in Sydney ) was an Australian jockey . He got 29 first, 31 second and three third placements. In 2014 he received prize money of AU $ 1.94 million .

Life

Nathan was Thomas Berry's twin brother, who was a few minutes older . They were born on Warwick Farm in New South Wales in 1991 and learned to ride from their father, Kevin Berry.

Nathan Berry was married to Glyn Schofield's daughter since February 2, 2014 . On March 18, 2014, he collapsed while training at the Singapore racetrack and was taken to Sydney on a special flight. An acute infection-induced form of epilepsy , the so-called Norse Syndrome (FIRES), was diagnosed in Sydney . Berry suffered several severe epilepsy attacks and had to be placed in an artificial coma. He died in a Sydney hospital on April 3, 2014.

Sporting successes

Berry began his professional jockey career at the age of 15 with his twin brother. In total, he won 351 races in his short career.

2013 won berry on Malavio the G3 Tramway Stakes at the Royal Randwick Racecourse, also on Va Pensiero the "Run To The Rose" and unencumbered the "McLachlan Stakes". In January 2014 he won the Magic Millions Classic (Thoroughbred Horse Racing) on Unencumbered .
