The National Dinosaur Museum ( National Dinosaur Museum ) is a museum in the Australian capital Canberra . It is the largest exhibition of prehistoric finds in the southern hemisphere. It shows the evolution of life, with a focus on the dinosaurs .

The museum is located about 15 kilometers north of downtown in Gold Creek Village, just off the Barton Highway . It was opened in 1993, and since then the exhibition, which includes over twenty complete skeletons and more than three hundred individual fossils , has been continuously updated to reflect the latest research in paleontology . With an annual number of 55,000 visitors, the museum is one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. The museum shop sells an extensive selection of fossils and ships them worldwide.
