National examination center

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nacionalinis egzaminų centras (NEC), (German: National Center for Examinations ) is the Lithuanian authority that is responsible for the examination procedure for high school graduates. The so-called Central Abitur has been gradually introduced in Lithuania since 1999 and now includes all state Abitur exams . The center was established on April 1, 1996 as Egzaminų centras . The centralization of the exams has contributed a lot to transparency and standardized all examination modalities. There are about 70 employees.

The center prepares the written examination tasks, conducts the examinations and corrects the written tasks and evaluates the results of the Lithuanian high school graduates . After passing the state examination, it is possible to study at Lithuanian and European universities.

At the moment, however, there are concerns that the same requirements are placed on all high school graduates, although the qualifications of teachers in schools in large cities and small towns often differ and the same preparatory conditions are therefore not ensured. In addition, the number of students in individual groups (classes) varies from 10 to 30. This is why the services of répétiteurs are becoming increasingly popular.
