The Henri Pittier National Park is a protected area in Venezuela . It was designated in 1937 and is 1,070 km² in size. The area extends from the Caribbean coast to Maracay . The park was initially called "Rancho Grande" and was only named after Henri Pittier in 1953 . It is known for giant ferns and many species of birds.
