Aragua is a federal state of Venezuela and is located in the central north of the country.
The landscape on the Caribbean coast consists mainly of jungle . The national park named after Henri Pittier - Venezuela's first national park - is located in this state. The capital is Maracay .

The Caribbean Sea borders the north of the state and is bordered by the Cordillera mountain range. The Codazzi Peak reaches a height of over 2,400 m. The rest of the country consists mainly of fertile valleys that are used for intensive agriculture. In the west, Aragua borders on Lake Valencia and the state of Carabobo , in the south on Guárico , in the east on Miranda and Vargas .
The main rivers are the Aragua, the Guárico, the Limón, the Tuy, the Pao and the Turmero. They all flow into the Caribbean, Lake Valencia or the Orinoco .
