history
The first encomiendas were distributed in 1592. The first Spanish foundation of the village is not certain. Some sources say Francisco de Loreto founded La Victoria at the end of the 16th century. Others say the village began building a church on November 18, 1620. There are documents about this construction.
In 1814, when the troops led by Boves threatened Caracas, José Félix Ribas fortified himself in La Victoria with 1,500 soldiers, half of whom were young students from the Universidad de Caracas. You resisted for nine hours.
