Flock of birds on the beach of the Langue de Barbarie National Park

The Langue de Barbarie National Park is located about 18 kilometers south of the city of Saint-Louis in western Senegal on a headland that separates the estuary of the Senegal River from the Atlantic . The national park is a 20 km² bird sanctuary , in which, among other things, flamingos, cormorants and pelicans can be observed. Various migratory birds can be found here, especially in winter. The park of Saint Louis can be reached via the N 2 , junction at Hotel Coumba Bang, through the village of Gandiol, where you have to cross over with a pirogue .
