The Laotian national road 16 runs from the Thai- Laotian border crossing at Chong Mek ( Amphoe Sirindhorn , Province Ubon Ratchathani ) / Vang Tao ( Province Champasak ) in an easterly direction over the Lao-Nippon Bridge to Pakse and from there to Sekong in the same name Province . In Pakse it crosses national road 13, which runs in a north-south direction .
