The N 23 initially leads in a south-easterly direction through the towns of Zemmora , Mendes and Rahoula to Tiaret 95 km away , which is 1100  m high. There the N 23 crosses the national road 14 and then takes a more south-south-east direction, which leads you via Sougueur after 69 km to Ain Deheb . From there it leads over the Hauts Plateaux to Allou, one hundred kilometers away at the foot of the Jebel Amur . This is the eastern end point of National Road 47 , and the N 23 turns east here. It leads south past the 1708  m high Djebel Gourou to Ain al-Hamara. After passing this place, the road turns directly to the south, but then curves to the east and thus reaches the Laghouat, which is 792  m above sea level.
