Native Voice One

Native Voice One (NV1) (Brand: Native Voice One: The Native American Radio Network ) is the non-commercial radio network of the Native Americans in the United States .

Structure and mission

Native Voice One (NV1) is the radio division of Koahnic Broadcast Corporation . The task of NV1 is to give the Native Americans a voice in Alaska, the USA and the whole world. The network disseminates programs from natives and non-natives who follow this concern. Another task is to bring the American public closer to modern Native life through news, cultural programs, history, music and events.

Many of the connected stations broadcast the daily music program UnderCurrents  with four hours of music from the USA and the world. Started as a cross-cultural, relaxed music program by NV1, UnderCurrents has now been adopted by 170 radio stations.  

According to the company, the NV1 programs are taken over by over 140 connected stations. These are radio stations in the reservations, stations owned by the village, but also stations on the top radio markets in the metropolitan areas of the USA and Canada. In addition, NV1 broadcasts a 24-hour webstream.
