KIDE ( Tribally Owned and Operated Community Radio ) is a US public radio station from and for Hoopa in the Hoopa Valley in California. It is part of the Pacifica Radio Network and Native Voice One . It broadcasts on FM 91.3 M Hz with 0.195 k W ERP and belongs to the Hoopa Valley Tribe. It is one of the stations in the USA that is operated with photovoltaic cells.

history

In 1977, a fifth grade of Hupa language lessons searched for a four-letter word starting with K in the Hupa language for the callsign. "KIDE" means "antlers" or a tool made from the horn of the antlers.
