Chapet is a French commune with 1,314 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Mantes-la-Jolie and the canton of Les Mureaux (until 2015: canton of Meulan-en-Yvelines ). The inhabitants are called chapetois .
geography
Chapet is about 32 kilometers east-northeast of Paris . Chapet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Les Mureaux in the north and north-west, Verneuil-sur-Seine in the north and north-east, Vernouillet in the east, Morainvilliers in the south and south-east and Ecquevilly in the south and west.
