Hardricourt Town Hall

Hardricourt is a French commune with 2,289 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Mantes-la-Jolie and the canton of Les Mureaux (until 2015: canton of Meulan-en-Yvelines ). The inhabitants are called Hardricourtois .

Hardricourt Castle was owned from 1970 to 2011 by Jean-Bédel Bokassa , who was dictator from 1966 and from 1977 until his overthrow in 1979 the self-proclaimed Emperor of the Central African Republic . He lived in the castle from 1983 to 1986 during his exile.

geography

The municipality is located on the Seine , into which the Aubette flows here, and about 36 kilometers northeast of Paris . Hardricourt is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Gaillon-sur-Montcient in the north, Meulan-en-Yvelines in the east and south with the Île Belle , Mézy-sur-Seine in the west and south-west and Seraincourt in the north-west.
