Buchelay is a French commune in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . The municipality has 3133 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and is located in the arrondissement of Mantes-la-Jolie and in the canton of Mantes-la-Jolie (until 2015: canton of Mantes-la-Ville ). The inhabitants are called Buchelois .
geography
Buchelay is located about 50 kilometers west-northwest of Paris . Buchelay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mantes-la-Jolie in the north and northeast, Mantes-la-Ville in the east, Magnanville in the southeast, Fontenay-Mauvoisin in the south, Jouy-Mauvoisin in the southwest and Rosny-sur-Seine in the northwest.
The Autoroute A13 leads through Buchelay (junction Mantes-Ouest / Mantes-Sud).
