Flins-sur-Seine is a French commune with 2,410 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Mantes-la-Jolie and the canton of Aubergenville . The inhabitants are called Flinois . The municipality is best known for the Renault Flins plant , which is located in the municipality.
geography
Flins-sur-Seine is located about 30 kilometers northwest of Versailles and covers an area of 861 hectares. Neighboring communities are:
- Juziers in the northwest,
- Mézy-sur-Seine in the northeast,
- Les Mureaux in the east,
- Bouafle in the southeast,
- Bazemont in the south and
- Aubergenville to the west.
Toponymy
The name Flins-sur-Seine goes back to the Latin noun Figulus (= the potter).

The community can be reached via an exit from Autoroute A 13 and is also served by several bus routes operated by Transdev Ecquevilly . The next train station is only in the neighboring community of Aubergenville .
