Fontenay-Saint-Père is a French municipality with 982 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Mantes-la-Jolie and the canton of Limay . The inhabitants call themselves Fontenaysiens .

Fontenay-Saint-Père is located about 47 kilometers west-northwest of Paris in the Seine valley . Fontenay-Saint-Père is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Cyr-en-Arthies in the north, Drocourt in the north and northeast, Sailly in the northeast, Brueil-en-Vexin in the east, Guitrancourt in the southeast, Limay in the south and Follainville-Dennemont in the West.
