Marc Menant (born February 11, 1949 in Hardricourt ) is a French writer and journalist as well as a former racing car driver .

Marc Menant began his journalistic activities in the 1960s at Radio Luxembourg , where he was a radio - Reporter reported on sporting events. In the 1970s, he moved to the French TV station TF1 together with the former racing cyclist Robert Chapatte , who also worked as a sports journalist after the end of his sporting career . Among other things, he presented the weather forecasts at TF1 for many years.

From 1997 he worked as a journalist, news anchor and presenter at Europe 1 , a French radio station.

Marc Menant has been a writer since 1981 and has published eight novels to date. His first work was Les Mercenaires de la mer . His last book to date, Le petit roman de Haiti , was published in 2010.

Racing career

Marc Menant was active as a hobby driver and competed twice in the Le Mans 24-hour race . In 1979 he drove a Chevron B36 with Pierre-François Rousselot and Michel Dubois . The trio was not classified due to a lack of distance covered. His second job was seven years later when he drove a Rondeau M482 . The Rondeau with its 3.9-liter DFL Cosworth engine and an extremely aerodynamic body was a far more difficult racing car to drive than the 2-liter Chevron from 1979. Nevertheless, Menant and his two partners achieved 13th place in the final classification .
