Jean-Philippe Grand (born September 25, 1953 in Chinon ) is a former French car racing driver and racing team owner.

Racing career

Jean-Philippe Grand's driving career began in sports car racing in the 1970s. He made his first racing appearance in the Tour de France for automobiles in 1973 with a Porsche Carrera RSR as a team partner of Jean-François Piot . He couldn't finish the race because of a technical defect in the Porsche. His first endurance race was the Le Mans 24-hour race in 1980 . Grand reported a Chevron B36 that he drove with Yves Courage . After an accident, the team had to give up after just six laps. As a result, Grand was almost only involved in the Le Mans race , either with his own entries or for Courage Compétition , Yves Courage's team.

Up until 1991 , Grand was a driver at Le Mans ten times. His best place in the final classification was eleventh place in 1984 , together with Jean-Paul Libert and Pascal Witmeur in the Rondeau M379 . Also in 1986 he reached this position in the final ranking. In addition to the races at Le Mans, he occasionally competed in the Interseries and contested a few selected sports car races . He drove the 1000 km race at the Nürburgring in 1982 , the 1000 km race at Spa-Francorchamps in 1984 , where he was tenth overall, and the 500 km race at Monza in 1987 , where he was eighth.

Graff Racing

In 1986, Grand founded Graff Racing, a professional racing team. The team was involved in monoposto , GT and sports car racing. In 2008 he sold the team to Pascal Rauturier . Grand remained sporting director until 2013 and withdrew completely from racing at the end of the same year.
