Pascal Witmeur
Pascal Witmeur (born April 1, 1955 in Etterbeek ) is a former Belgian racing driver .
Career in motorsport
Pascal Witmeur began his motorsport career in monoposto racing . At the end of the 1970s, he entered the British Formula 3 Championship and in 1979 also competed in a race in the Aurora AFX Formula 1 series on a March 772 . The Belgian was never really able to gain a foothold in monoposto sports, so he soon drove parallel sports car races.
For the time being, he mainly competed in domestic races, such as the 24-hour race in Spa-Francorchamps and the 1000 km race on the same racetrack. In 1982 he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans . As a partner of Christian Bussi and Bernard de Dryver , he finished the race on a Rondeau M382 in 15th place overall. His best place in this 24-hour race was eleventh overall in 1984 . At the 24-hour race in Spa he drove once - in 1999 - on the podium of the top three in third place. His partners were Bas Leinders and Jeffrey Van Hooydonk , and the racing car was a Peugeot 306 GTi .
Witmeur drove car races until the end of the 2002 season and won the overall ranking of the Belgian Touring Car Championship in 1991.
