Aurora AFX Formula 1 Series 1979

The 1979 Aurora AFX Formula 1 Series , also known as the 1979 British Formula 1 Championship , was a monoposto racing series that was run according to the Formula 1 regulations .

In 1980 the second season of the Aurora AFX Formula 1 series took place. In addition to Formula 1 racing vehicles, Formula Atlantic vehicles were also permitted. At the Grand Prix of Nogaro were even Formula 2 racing car at the start. The season started on April 1st with the Belgian Cup in Zolder and ended with the 15th event in Silverstone in October . Rupert Keegan secured the overall standings by two points over Dave Kennedy .
