Jeffrey Van Hooydonk
Jeffrey Van Hooydonk (born October 1, 1977 in Antwerp ) is a Belgian racing driver .
Career
Van Hooydonk started motorsport as a kart driver in 1990 . In 1995, Van Hooydonk in Formula racing in the German Formula Renault in 1700 and launched the following year in the German Formula Renault 2000. In both years he won the runner-up. Then he won the 1997 Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup championship . A year later, Van Hooydonk switched to the German Formula 3 championship , in which he finished sixth overall.
In 1999 he was hired by Witmeur KTR for Formula 3000 . He scored points as fourth and finished 17th in the overall ranking. In 2000 Van Hooydonk stayed with Witmeur KTR and started his second Formula 3000 season. The Belgian was once again fourth and this time finished 19th in the championship standings. He also took part in a race in the American Le Mans Series .
In 2001 Van Hooydonk left Formula 3000 in the direction of the Belgian Procar series , in which he won the runner-up title. After the Belgians again in 2002 moved to the German Formula 3 Championship and fifth place had become, he returned in 2003 back into Formula 3000th For the Belgian team Astromega , he started six out of ten races and finished 13th overall. He also drove a race in the FIA GT Championship . In 2004 Van Hooydonk started his fourth Formula 3000 season with Coloni Motorsport . After four races in which he scored three points, he swapped cockpits with Patrick Friesacher and competed for Super Nova Racing for the rest of the season . In the overall standings, he finished eleventh overall.
After Van Hooydonk had not found a cockpit in the GP2 series , the successor to the Formula 3000 series, in 2005, he competed in the Mégane Trophy Eurocup and finished fourth in the overall standings. After a two-year break, Van Hooydonk returned to the Belgian GT Championship in 2008 and finished eighth in the overall standings. In 2009 Van Hooydonk competed in the 24-hour races in Spa-Francorchamps and Zolder .
Van Hooydonk also gained experience in a Formula 1 car in 2005 when he was testing for MF1 Racing .
