Pierre-François Rousselot (born May 8, 1948 ) is a former French racing car driver and journalist.

Journalist and author

Pierre-Francois Rousselot was for many years as a journalist for the French automobile - weekly Autohebdo active. Between the 1960s and 1980s, he did a plethora of car tests and wrote the reports on them. He also used his presence as a driver at racing events as a journalist.

Together with Alain Prost , he wrote several publications on the technology of car racing.

Racing career

Monoposto

Rousselot's driving career began in 1970 in Formula France , the predecessor series to Formula Renault . The championship, whose overall classification won François Laccarrau , he finished eighth. In 1971 he switched to Formula 3 and drove in the Italian , French and British championships . In 1971 he was third overall in the French championship, behind Patrick Depailler and Jean-Pierre Jabouille , his best final place in a Formula 3 championship.

Sports car racing

Rousselot competed in his first sports car races from 1971 onwards, parallel to his outings in the monoposto. From 1974 until the end of his driving career at the end of the 1989 season, he only competed in sports car races . His first race was the Paris 1000 km race in 1971 , where he was twelfth overall as a partner of Mike Coombe on a Lola T70 Mk.3B GT . In 1977 he competed in the Le Mans 24-hour race for the first time . It was not until 1988 , in the eighth of his nine participations, that he achieved a place in the final ranking with 21st place. The 1989 race was the last race in his career. Together with Jean Messaoudi and Thierry Lecerf , he drove an Argo JM19C in 18th place overall.
