Natsumi Abe (2014)

Natsumi Abe ( Japanese 安 倍 な つ み , Abe Natsumi , born August 10, 1981 in Muroran , Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese J-Pop singer and actress. She is best known as a founding member of the Idol - girl group Morning Musume . After leaving the group in 2004 she was active as a soloist and is currently a member of the group Dream Morning Musume .

Life

Abe was bullied by classmates while she was in middle school. During this time she listened to the music of the group JUDY & MARY and made the decision to become a singer. Abe spoke about the bullying and an eating disorder she developed over time on the television show Heart o Tsunagou ( ハ ー ト を つ な ご う ) in September 2009.

In 1997 she took part in the Asanyan casting to a singer in the rock band Sharam Q to be. She made it to the final round, but lost to Michiyo Heike . Together with the remaining four finalists, she was given a second chance to appear in a newly formed group called Morning Musume . Abe quickly became a crowd favorite and did most of the singing.

In 2003 she started a solo career. Her first single, 22-sai no Watashi , is her most successful with over 80,000 copies sold. In January 2004 she left Morning Musume and released her first album a month later. In December of the same year, Abe was accepted by Hello! For a few months . Project suspended because she copied some poems from other artists in her poetry book Natchi , published in 2001 , without mentioning them. In 2007 she was involved in a traffic accident in which, according to the police report, she ran around a motorcyclist while turning. She left the Hello! Project together with most of the soloists and older groups at the time in March 2009. She continues her solo career under the UFP agency, but concentrates on activities as an actress, especially in the theater.

In 2011 she became part of the group Dream Morning Musume .
