description
The old nature reserve Klauserwäldchen (also Klauser Wäldchen) north of the Inde is a structure-rich and species-rich woodruff - beech forest with some very old trees. South of the chapel of the hermitage Kornelimünster standing on the mountain is a rock wall and in the north the rock wall of the quarry “Münsterkull” with the ruins of the historical lime kiln “An der Bilstermühle” . To the east there is an old avenue of lime trees . South of the Inde lies the Frankenwäldchen with old wood that is also rich in dead wood and a species-rich woodruff beech forest.
Protection purpose
The protection purpose here is the preservation and development of near-natural deciduous forest stands of linden and elm trees with old and dead wood as well as the protection of the rocky biotopes on the slopes sloping towards the Inde for scientific, natural history, geological and regional reasons. The nature reserve is also of great importance as a stepping stone biotope for the regional biotope network.
