Natural forest academy

The Natural Forest Academy is an independent research institution on the subject of European forests, nature and climate protection. It was founded in 2016 and operates in Berlin , Lübeck and Hamburg . It has the status of a non-profit GmbH .

The chairman of the scientific advisory board is Knut Sturm, who has been head of the Lübeck city forest since 2010 . The Academy expressly supports its forest management concept.

On behalf of Greenpeace Germany , the institution and the Freiburg Eco-Institute developed the study Waldvision , which was published in 2018 and calls for a forest turnaround in order to bring forest use into line with the demands of climate protection and biodiversity.
