Nausea is a crust / grind band from Los Angeles , California , USA . The band name is the medical term for nausea . The drummer Eric Castro gave the drum technique Blastbeat its name , as he used the pseudonym Dr. Blastbeat gave. Only so-called " Hispanics " played in the band . Not to be confused with the Japanese punk band Nausea or the crust punk band Nausea from New York City.

history

The band was founded by Oscar Garcia in 1985 under the name "Majesty". Back then the band was playing satanic thrash metal . However, with the advent of grindcore, the band changed their focus. In 1987 Carlos Reveles left the band, and in order to legitimize the stylistic change and to avoid confusion, the name was changed to Nausea. The lyrics have been about politics ever since.

In 1987 Alfred Estrada and Oscar Garcia founded the grindcore band Terrorizer together with Pete Sandoval and Jesse Pintado . The two took some song material to Terrorizer and released it there under the title World Downfall . In 1988, Terrorizer broke up and Garcia and Estrada could concentrate on their band Nausea again . Then in 1991, the debut album was released Crime Against Humanity of nausea . The band broke up in 1994, but reunited again in 2001. The band does not currently have a record deal.
