Nazareth is a place surrounded by aboutNazareth is about two kilometers south of the municipal capital Teguise and about nine kilometers north of the island's capital Arrecife . Thanks to the foresight over a large area up to the east coast and Arrecife, Nazareth has largely developed into a sought-after place to live with a few villas.
One of the sights in Nazareth is the Lagomar . It is a property that the artist Jesús Soto , a friend of César Manrique's , created in the early 1970s. Allegedly the actor Omar Sharif bought it and lost it in a bridge game while filming on the island. He never lived there. The area to be visited today, integrated into a former quarry, consists of the Casa Omar Sharif , a pond with a fountain, a restaurant and a jazz bar, connected by white tunnels and narrow paths with beautiful views. Manrique's style is unmistakable. The adjacent Museo Lagomar has been open since the late 2000s . Since then, the entire property can only be visited by entering this museum.
