Neapolis (Pisidia)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Neapolis was an ancient city in the Pisidia region of Asia Minor (on the border with Phrygia ) in what is now Turkey. It is not clearly localized, but could have been at today's Şarkikaraağaç .

According to the research of Louis Roberts , Neapolis originated in the Hellenistic period. In late antiquity it was the seat of a bishop. The titular archbishopric of Neapolis in Pisidia of the Roman Catholic Church goes back to the diocese .
