Şarkikaraağaç is a city and capital of the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Isparta . It is located about 145 km northeast of Antalya and about 80 km northeast of the provincial capital Isparta on the trunk road D 695.

It is not far from the city to three large freshwater lakes:

Şarkikaraağaç was part of Konya until 1878 and then moved to Isparta. Lt. City seal it is a Belediye since 1864.

district

The easternmost district of Isparta province borders on Yalvaç district in the north, Gelendost and Eğirdir districts in the west, and Yenişarbademli district in the south. In the east it borders on the province of Konya , in the southeast the lake Beyşehir Gölü forms a natural border with this province.

In addition to the district town (2018: 39.2% of the district's population), the district consists of the two communities Çarıksaraylar (2,890) and Çiçekpınar (2,130 inhabitants) and 26 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 405 inhabitants. Göksöğüt is the largest village (1,084 inhabitants). The population density just reaches half the provincial average (of 49 inhabitants per km²).
