Gelendost is a town and capital of the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Isparta . The city is located about 56 kilometers northeast of the provincial town and is home to about a third of the district's population (34.3%). The D 330 trunk road touches the city. The place was raised to Belediye (municipality) in 1951 .

The district is located in the center of the province, east of Lake Eğirdir Gölü and is also bordered by Yalvaç District in the north, Şarkikaraağaç District in the west and Eğirdir District in the south. The district was split off from the western part of Şarkikaraağaç district in 1954 and formed as a separate district. In addition to the district town, the district also consists of 13 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 779 inhabitants - this is the highest average for the villages in a district. Three of the villages have more than a thousand inhabitants: Yaka (1,702), Bağıllı (1,435) and Yeşilköy (1,350 inhabitants). With a population density of 25 inhabitants per square kilometer, the district reaches almost half the provincial average (of 49).
