Incidents

Necon Air recorded two fatal incidents and one incident in its history where the aircraft had to be written off:

  • On November 6, 1997, an Avro 748 ( aircraft registration number 9N-ACM ) had a problem with the hydraulics when landing in Pokhara and subsequently came off the runway. The aircraft collided with another Avro of Nepal Airways parked without engines . Nothing happened to the 44 passengers and four crew members, but the machine had to be written off as a result.
  • On January 18, 1999, a Cessna 208 Caravan (registration number 9N-ADA ) crashed on the plane from Jumla to Nepalganj with 12 passengers and two crew members. After the launch took place at around 140 m a stall probably due to the fully extended landing flap . The Cessna caught fire, which the airport tower could not put out because its fire extinguishers were still in their original packaging. Four passengers and one of the two crew members died in the incident.
  • On September 5, 1999, an Avro 748 (registration number 9N-AEG ) on the way from Pokhara to Kathmandu with ten passengers and five crew members collided with a mast while landing. Nobody survived the incident.
