Negritude Júnior

Negritude Júnior is a Brazilian pagoda band from Carapicuíba, near Osasco in the greater São Paulo area .

Career

Negritude Júnior was founded in 1986 by friends Nênê, Ari, Feijão, Claudinho and Waguininho. Later Netinho de Paula , Lino Izaguirre and Fabinho joined the band. The band members were between 12 and 15 years old at the time and lived in a Cohab settlement in Carapicuíba, in the east of São Paulo. The impact of poverty and living in marginalized neighborhoods found expression in later songs such as “Cohab City”. They met regularly on Sundays at the Praça do Samba in Osasco to make music together. A music producer discovered the talented youth, whose group name became Negritúde Júnior. The group made their first appearance on May 18, 1986. Negritude Júnior has now been in the music business for 25 years, has recorded ten albums, sold 4.5 million records, won eight gold and seven platinum records, as well as four double platinum records. Around 480,000 visitors come to their shows every year and 10 million television viewers see their performances. Their music is among the 20 most played songs in Brazil. Her greatest successes include “Jeito de Seduzir”, “Amor a Vera”, “Algo de Valor”, “Vida de Rei”, “Chica Guerreira”, “Canto de uma Senzala”, “Te Amo Princesa”, “Coração Aberto” ”,“ Triste Andança ”,“ La Tina ”and“ Família Negritude Júnior ”.
