The Brasserie La Cigale (French: Grille) is a listed restaurant in Nantes .

The restaurant, designed by the architect and ceramist Émile Libaudière and opened on April 1, 1895, is located on Place Graslin opposite the theater of the same name. It has been protected as a Monument historique since October 12, 1964 . Its lavish decor can be assigned to historicism in the transition to Art Nouveau.

The bourgeois eatery has always attracted artists because of its proximity to the Théâtre Graslin . His regular guests included Jacques Prévert and André Breton . Jacques Demy shot some scenes of his film Lola there in 1961 . Agnès Varda shot scenes for the film Jacquot there in 1991 .

The eatery became a self-service restaurant in 1964 and was threatened with closure in the 1970s, but reopened as a brasserie in 1982 .
