Neil Arnott

Neil Arnott (born May 15, 1788 in Arbroath , †  March 2, 1874 in London ) was a Scottish doctor .

After studying medicine in Aberdeen and London, Arnott became a surgeon with the East India Company at the age of 19 . In 1811 Arnott opened a practice in London, where over time he became a doctor for the Spanish and French embassies and for Queen Victoria .

Arnotts was interested in natural philosophy and published some works in it. His book Elements of Physics has been reprinted several times. He also invented the hydrostatic bed , a fan and an oven.
