Neil Findlay

Neil Findlay (born March 6, 1969 in Broxburn ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labor Party . Findlay attended St Kentigerns Academy in Broxburn and West Lothian College . At the same time, he completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer in his parents' company. He then studied at the University of Strathclyde and the University of Glasgow . He then worked for a housing association and finally as a teacher at various elementary and secondary schools in the Falkirk region . Findlay has been an elected member of West Lothian's Regional Council since 2003 . He is also a member of the EIS teachers' union .

In the 2011 parliamentary elections , Findlay first ran for national elections. He did not apply for the direct mandate of a constituency, but was placed on the Labor Party's regional electoral list for the Lothian electoral region . As a result of the election result, he was one of seven candidates on the electoral list to enter the Scottish Parliament.
