Nella Maria Bonora (born May 19, 1904 in Mantua , † August 3, 1990 in Florence ) was an Italian actress , author and voice actress .

Life

Bonora made her debut at the age of 16 as a small actress in the ensemble around Amedeo Chiantoni ; soon she was hired by Emma Gramatica as the "first young lady". In 1925 she was under contract with Febo Mari , in 1928 with Aristide Baghetti . In the following year she had assembled her own cast of actors for the first time with Marcello Giorda and in 1930 played in the "Spettacoli Gialli" under Romano Calò . Another year later she went next to Gramatica u. a. on an Eastern European tour. Also in 1931 she took on a supporting role for her film debut in La lanterna del diavolo . Until 1940 she played roles from the second series in a comparatively small number of works and very occasionally the main role for the production company Cines .

In the theater, she always but unsteadily pursued her career: She saw the stage season 1934/35 with her own company “Compagnia della Quercia”, which she gave up the following year in favor of a prestigious engagement alongside Giulio Donadio ; In 1937 she then took to the stage with Armando Falconi . For a few months from the summer of 1938 she played for the "Compagnia del Teatro Eliseo", which she left again to work with Giulio Donadoni again. At the beginning of the Second World War , Bonora withdrew; she only played again in 1943/44, this time alongside Mario Ferrari .

After the war she turned to the radio; she was part of the ensemble speaking for the EIAR on Radio Roma. In addition, she wrote two pieces for the radio herself, wrote novels and poems and was busy as a voice actress. In 1951 she received the Silver Microphone for her radio work. In the same year she was contracted alongside Ubaldo Lay by the radio station “WOW” in New York City to design and write programs for Italian-Americans. In 1953 Bonora moved to Florence and worked for the “Compagnia di Prosa” of Radio Firenze . With the exception of radio works that are becoming increasingly rare, she stopped all artistic activities and was often around the well-known medium Roberto Setti .

Bonora was married to Carlo Lombardi until shortly after the war and from 1948 to Vittorio Caprari .
