Nelson Díaz (born January 12, 1942 ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

society

Díaz was initially active for the Montevidean Wanderers association. There he was second division champion in 1962. He then played from 1965 to 1967 in Montevideo with Peñarol . In 1965 and 1967, Peñarol won the Uruguayan championship. 1966 won the Aurinegros trained by Roque Máspoli in the finals or play-offs in May against River Plate, the Copa Libertadores . Díaz was in all three final games in the starting lineup of the Montevideans. In October 1966, Real Madrid were defeated in the World Cup . However, Diáz was not featured in these encounters. From 1967 to 1969 he was a member of the Atlético Junior squad . 1973 a station in Ecuador at Emelec is also recorded. There he played in the Copa Libertadores competition.
