The Nelson Motor Truck Company was an American commercial vehicle manufacturers . The brand name was Jumbo .

The company was founded in Saginaw in 1918 to manufacture commercial vehicles from purchased components (so-called assembled trucks ). Premises were found in the former production facilities of Saginaw Motor Company , maker of the Yale passenger car.

Between 1919 and 1920 the Model A was the only product. This was a truck with a Buda - four-cylinder engine of 312 ci (5113 cm³) of displacement and a load of 2.5 t . It was available in two versions with an open platform , Stake truck and Express . Both cost US $ 3,550.

With the model year 1921, similar models appeared with 1.5; 2; 3 and 3.5 t payload (1.5 to 4 t according to another source). They too received Buda four-cylinder engines in various sizes. All had Fuller four-speed transmissions and Clark bevel-gear rear axles

The trademark was the circus elephant "Jumbo". An elephant pictured from the front also formed the letter “M” in the logo on the radiator grille.
