Life
At the age of 25, Sanhueza was signed by CF Monterrey before the 1977/78 season and completed 37 of 38 possible missions for the Rayados in his first season. Sanhueza played his first game in the Mexican Primera División at the start of the season on July 30, 1977 in a 4-1 away win against CF Atlas . His first goal in the Mexican league he scored 3-0 in the 80th minute in a 4-1 away win against CD Tampico .

Sanhueza played a total of twelve years in Mexico and had his last use in the Mexican league on June 10, 1988 in the service of Correcaminos de la UAT in their 0-1 defeat against his previous employer Atlético Potosino . It was also his bitterest moment as an athlete, because he was relegated to the second division with the newly promoted Correcaminos .
He suffered this fate twelve years later as the coach of Toros Neza , from whom he had been signed in January 2000 and in May 2000 again had to accept the path to the second division, now known as Primera División 'A' . In the second division , which has been known as Liga de Ascenso since the 2009/10 season , he coached his former club Correcaminos in 2004 and again in 2010.
