Neo Contra (OT: jap .: ネオコントラ , Neo Kontora ) is an arcade shoot-'em-up and another part of the computer game series Contra company Konami . In contrast to its predecessors, the player moves through a 3D environment, but the gameplay remains almost the same.

Gameplay

Before starting the game, the player selects a weapon set that consists of three different weapons: a primary weapon for lightly armored opponents, a secondary weapon for bosses or heavier armor, and a target weapon for flying opponents or opponents outside the range of the first two weapons.

After the game has started, the player finds himself in an environment full of opponents who have to be eliminated. The hit rate, which is displayed at the bottom of the screen, is important. It has no influence on the game, but you need higher hit rates to be able to play in later levels. Some opponents appear again after they have been defeated, but then give no further percentage points. The opponents in Neo Contra usually only have one attack variant and, according to the arcade game principle, are always fatal for the player in a collision. They occur in large numbers in places and can easily get the player into situations that seem unfair. Intermediate opponents often appear during the level, at the end of the level a final boss is waiting for the player.
