Nepenthes campanulata is a carnivorous plant belonging to the genus pitcher plants ( Nepenthes ). It is native to Borneo . It wasdiscoveredby André Kostermans in September 1957and wasfirst describedby Shigeo Kurata in 1973.

description

Nepenthes campanulata forms a native rosette and has some features that are atypical for pitcher plants: It has no ability to climb and also remains very compact in height. The stem of the plant reaches 4 mm in diameter. Nepenthes campanulata also only produces one type of pitcher. These small, yellow-green pitchers with their relatively large pitchers reach a height of about 5-7 cm. The peristome, measuring up to 5 cm in diameter, is relatively small (narrow) and darker green on the inside. Digestive glands are only located in the lower third of the pot. The pitchers are relatively short-lived. The leaves are only about 5–10 cm long. Plants as high as 30 cm are fully grown and capable of flowering.

distribution

The plant grows at an altitude of about 300 m on mossy, otherwise substrateless limestone cliffs in the Indonesian province of East Kalimantan on Borneo . The locations are very bright and have a high level of humidity.
