Nephrotoma terminalis is a two-winged bird from the family of the Schnaken (Tipulidae).
features
The Schnake reaches a body length of about 16 millimeters. As with the other species of the genus Nephrotoma, their body is shiny yellow-black, but yellow is dominant, even the central stripe on the thorax is lightened light brown on the sides. The stripes on the side of the thorax have shiny black tips that are curved downwards at the front. The pleuras are completely yellow-ocher; in the similar Nephrotoma scalaris they have dark spots.
Way of life and distribution
The animals come from Central Europe to Syria and Turkmenistan . The larvae develop in the litter and feed on detritus .
