Nesrin Ulusu

Nesrin Ulusu (* 1974 in Hamburg ) is an Alevi singer and saz player.

Her uncle is the famous Alevi music director Celal Ulusu ; her aunt Neriman Ulusu and cousin Ercan Ulusu are also singers. Ulusu came from a very musical family and learned to play baglama at an early age. The family itself comes from Divriği ( Sivas province ), but moved to Germany in earlier years. Ulusu received music lessons in the Erdal Erzincan Music School. Even at a young age she wrote Alevi songs about Hz. Ali and the twelve imams. For two years she moderated a music program at Radio Baris and sang songs herself. In 1993 she recorded two albums with the Özdemir Plakci tape company. In the following years, other albums from her came on the market. In 2007, after a long break, she released her album Leyli Leyli, which was a great success.
