Nesselsdorf L

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nesselsdorf L was a successor to the car types D and F , which the Nesselsdorfer Wagenbau-Fabriks-Gesellschaft brought out parallel to the type J 30 in 1906 .

The vehicle had a side-controlled four - cylinder in - line engine with L-cylinder heads. The engine had a displacement of 4506 to 4940 cm³, an output between 25 and 30 HP (18.4-22 kW) and was installed in the front under the bonnet. This completely new engine had been developed by engineer Lang in 1904/1905 as a drive for trucks and still had a magnetic breakaway ignition . The maximum achievable speed of the 1515 kg car was 70 km / h. There were four- and six-seat tonneau bodies .

The L-shape of the cylinder heads resulted in a very complicated valve train with many moving parts. This design, together with the outdated breakaway ignition, led to poorer performance values than the J 30 T-heads . In 1911, this design principle disappeared from the brand's cars.
