The Smurfit Kappa Nettingsdorf AG & Co KG in Nettingsdorf, a district of the Upper Austrian municipality of Ansfelden , is a manufacturer of corrugated -Rohpapieren and a member of the Smurfit Kappa Group .

history

The origins of the paper mill go back to 1851, when Franz Haltmay (e) r bought the property Nettingsdorf No. 23, the so-called “Stegmühle”, and converted it into a “machine paper mill”. In June 1853 it went into production and employed 49 people. In 1873 the company went bankrupt and was bought up in 1875 by Julius Roemer, the former factory director of the Steyrermühl paper mill . In 1897 it was converted into a stock corporation. In 1908 a company fire brigade (BTF Nettingsdorf) was founded. On July 18, 1910, Bruno Roemer, member of the administrative board, director of the Nettingsdorfer Papierfabrik Aktiengesellschaft and son of Julius Roemer, died. Richard Stepski (1879–1973) also played an important role; he was a board member, director and, from 1948, a member of the supervisory board and was appointed honorary president.

In 1995 the Irish Jefferson Smurfit Group took a 27.5% stake in the company and took it over entirely until 2000.

Companies

The Nettingsdorfer paper factory is an integrated paper factory and produces paper from wood. The two main products are KRAFTLINER brown and DECKENPAPIER (testliner). The export quota is around 85%.
