A power machine (also mesh funnel is called), a machine for packing of trees and other plants in a net tube.

Fir tree is pulled by a net machine

Classic variant

With this machine, the tree is packed from bottom to top by a lifting arm.

The opening of the machine intended for the plant is equipped with a corresponding net hose. The plant is then pulled through this opening so that it is enclosed by the net. Depending on the machine, this is done either by hand or by machine with a bracket and an automatic pull. If the plant is enclosed by the net, it is separated from the protruding net of the machine so that the plant remains closed and the machine is ready for use again.

Other variants

Hydraulic network machines are partly driven by the PTO shaft of a tractor. Some net machines use a lifting arm instead of the horizontal design, which encloses the tree from bottom to top with the net.

application

Net machines are mainly used for the transport and storage of trees, as they reduce the space required and they are better protected from damage. In addition, they are easier to attach and carry and lose less leaf fall or needles during transport. The sale of net Christmas trees and firs represents a large market . In gardening and landscaping, net tubes made of jute or hemp are used, in the Christmas tree trade mostly plastic nets are used.

history

According to the Berks-Mont News , the first motorized Christmas tree net machine was invented in Pennsylvania in 1944 .
