Network library

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Network Library is the nationwide library campaign of the German Library Association . The focus is on digital offers and services as well as "contemporary event formats" and current trends in the library landscape. The campaign is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and supported by the ekz Group and divibib. The image campaign began with a nationwide week of action on Libraries Day on October 24, 2014 and lasted until July 31, 2017.

aims

According to the organizers, today's library is a place of exchange and learning that combines virtual worlds with real encounters. Your central service should be to grant all citizens, regardless of income, status, age, gender or origin, free access to information, education and culture and to convey cultural education offers - analog and digital.

The aim is to make the existing digital offers and educational projects of the German libraries visible to a broader public. Digital should not be in competition with analog, but should be viewed as a contemporary adaptation to the requirements of a digitized world. The network would like to offer the library professional community a platform for networking for the exchange of current developments and trends in the national and international library landscape (cooperation and joint events with other educational establishments and institutions).

The campaign mainly takes place online, for example offers from the participating libraries can be found out and information is provided on library-related topics (knowledge, events).
